A MORE LIVABLE KINGSTON

Housing

Like many communities, we are in the middle of a housing crisis, where too many Kingstonians are being priced out of a housing market where supply has not kept up with demand, and—after a decade of band-aid solutions—too many of Kingston’s most vulnerable still experience homelessness. We need to increase the supply of market and supportive housing in Kingston, and ensure that property taxes rates are kept under control, so that seniors are not forced out of their homes.

Roads

Our roads are rated some of the worst in Ontario, and potholes make it difficult for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians alike. Traffic calming measures are needed in our area to make sure that it is safe for children to walk to school or play in the neighbourhood. Residential streets should be safe from speeding.

Climate

Despite passing motions to recognize the challenges of climate change in our community, little action has been taken to make Kingston a more sustainable city.

With such complex issues facing our city, we need councillors ready to bring fresh eyes to complex problems, process detailed information, and effectively communicate constituent concerns. This October, vote for a more livable Kingston. Vote Murphy!
